Welcome to 7 Speaks!
For your first blog post this year, please write two paragraphs in response to the following prompts. Make sure to include lots of details, and check for spelling and punctuation before posting. For all of your blog posts, make sure to compose in a google doc first! That way you will be better able to check your work. Also, because we are unable to indent on the blog, please use the enter key to skip a line between paragraphs.

Paragraph One: Write a detailed paragraph that gives lots of information. You should say more beyond, "I want to be Han Solo's best friend because he is cool." If he IS cool, explain why. What would you do together? What would your friendship be like?
Paragraph Two: Describe your identity as a reader using the following questions as a guide.Choose a minimum of three (or more for extra credit!).
- Do you remember when you first learned to read? How old were you? Who taught you? Describe your earliest reading memory.
- What was your favorite book, or who was your favorite author, as a child? Did you ever return to one book again and again? Do you still enjoy this book/author today as a 7th grader?
- What is the definition of a good book for you?
- Describe the book you are currently reading. Include the title and author and tell us about it without giving away any spoilers. Who would you recommend this book to? (Let's share some titles and get reading!)
- Have you read The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins? What are your thoughts on this book being made into a movie franchise? Do you think the film version does the book justice? Why or why not?
- What other film versions of books have you seen and loved (or hated)?
This is a question I don’t even have to think about. Alice Liddel. From ALICE IN WONDERLAND. She and I would have the kind of unbreakable friendship only seen in books. We would do everything together and we would spend our days chasing after white rabbits and Dodo birds. I think that our dislike for practical society and the way you are expected to do things would make us perfect friends. She has a wild imagination and uses it to get away from the things she doesn’t like, or even just everyday life. Alice and I would make a perfect duo.
ReplyDeleteI myself learned to read before I could walk. At about the age of one, I was sitting with my parents and reading THE LORAX by Dr.Seuss, which is still my favorite book. My first word was “book” and everyone who meets me says it wasn’t a coincidence. For me a good book is about the storyline, an original story with original characters. The words used are important too and of course, it has to be believable in a totally unbelievable way.
Right now I am reading Sister. It’s about a girl who has a very strong bond with her little sister, who then goes missing. It’s a mystery, filled with suspense, but it’s also about sisterly love. And of course, I’ve read the hunger games. In the beginning, I refused to see the movie, because I didn’t want my favorite book to be ruined. But, after being offered the chance to see it before it hit the public, I couldn’t refuse. After I saw the movie, I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed. Gary ross did a great job of portraying the horror of the idea, while still keeping it pg-13. My favorite book of all time, the perks of being a wallflower, is coming out as a movie on October 3rd. I can’t wait because the trailers look amazing!
I really liked how you used specific details. Also I liked how you used correct punctuation and capitalization.
DeleteNice! You are a great, for being unique!
DeleteYour blog post had so much detail, that I couldn't explain how much I loved yours ;)Great work on being yourself, and keep reading wonderful, unique books!
DeleteIf I could have a fictional character to be my best friend I would pick K.I.T.T. from knight rider. I would have picked him because he is a robot and I don’t have to drive him or do my homework because he can do it for me. Our friendship would not be that close because he is a robot and I am a human life form (as he would say). I would only use him when we have to go places and I would also use him to talk to when I am bored. That is why I would pick K.I.T.T. from knight rider to be my best friend.
ReplyDeleteHere is my reading identity of me . My favorite book when I was a child was green eggs and ham it was that because my mom would always say you don’t know until you try it. And that was exactly the purpose of this book. The definition of a good book to be is a book with comedy and action. I am currently reading the hunger games by Suzanne Collins in English and Spanish. The book is about 24 children fighting to the death for the riches. I would recommend this book so that he can try harder to stop child soldiers in Africa and other parts of the world.
I loved it Berkly I thought that it was funny and thought out.But I did see that in the last sentence in the first paragraph.
DeleteGreat job! For trying your hardest!
DeleteHey Berks! Nice one! I said Yoda in mine, but you hit it out of the park with K.I.T.T.! THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! But where would it take you if it's GPS got messed up?
DeleteWhich K.I.T.T. are you talking about? Because I like the old one better than than the new one. It could do better things.

ReplyDeleteI want to make the NBA. I love the sport of basketball. It is fun and competitive. I would love the money and the fame. The Hall Of Fame will be a dream come true.
I first learned to read when I was four. My Mom made me read nonstop until my eyes fell out. My favorite book is the On The Court With Kobe Bryant. My definition of a good book, it must have drama, deaths, a change in lifestyle, and a ending you can never see coming. My favorite author is Dr. Seuss, because I don’t remember any other authors.
This is a great! Just one question, what does NBA have to do with your fictional friend?
DeleteI would want Batman to my super hero best friend because, Batman is really cool at night and have this dark attitude. Also I know I would chill with him because I love to be around really chill people. But during the day he’s still really cool, but he’s like a businessman and has a more stronger and outgoing attitude.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice !!!!!!!!
DeleteNice! That is very unique, keep your imagination!
DeleteIf I could have any fictional character as a best friend I would choose HARRY POTTER. I would choose Harry Potter, because he could just do a spell to get me or us out of trouble. But only, because he can do some kind of spell so I could do real magic. Harry Potter always has his friends backs, because he only has two friends. Especially in the movies when they had to fight off the bald guy with the huge snake.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great series! Go ahead and keep your heart full of reading!
DeleteIf could have any fictional character as my best friend I would choose Elmo because he’s real cute and he’s cool with a lot of people. Also he’s smart and he always having some decent party at the end of every day and of course if he was my best friend I would be invited. He and I would walk around holding hands and everybody would be hatin.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I ever read was in like pre-school and i think I was about two or three. My favorite book as a child was always CHICKA-CHICKA BOOM-BOOM ! I used to read that book all the time and i still get hype when I see somebody reading that book now ! A good book to me is one that has humor but is real serious and can relate to my life at that moment or has happen to me before. Also books with drama because it keeps me engaged in that book
I love that book
DeleteOh my gosh (: . Me tooo
DeleteYou do love elmo! Great job speaking your mind!
DeleteNia, I love your post, I could truly see your personality come alive. When you said, "He and I would walk around holding hands and everybody would be hatin.", you made me laugh! Keep up the great work :)
DeleteA character Greg from diary of a wimpy kid because he is funny and we both like to play video games and we both have that friend that get you mad but you still like him and.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Khaliff and i was four years old win i learned how to read and my favorite book was go long and you now a book is good because you will be in to the book.
I love that series. Keep reading until the end!

ReplyDeleteSeptember 27, 2012
Hello my name is Michael Williams and I love to read. I learned how to read when I was three-years-old when I learned how to read. Before I learned how to read I would listen to everyone in my house read to me. When the read by themselves I would start crying because I didn’t know how to read. My mom taught me how to read. I was really happy when she taught me how to read. The first book I read was to my mom. The book taught me the alphabet, animals, and different types of food.
My favorite book was Cat In The Hat by Dr.Seuss. Sometimes I still read it to my cousins. I still enjoy the book and the movie even though I am in 7th grade I don’t read the book as much anymore. I loved that book so much.
A good book for me is one that I can understand and can read easily. For example: I love the book called Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I have read all the books at least 10 times each. The main character is Katniss Everdeen. Her partner for the “hunger games” was Peeta. The entire series was good. I hope you read this book.
You forgot to write about what fictional character do you want as a best fried
DeleteNice story really great! But you forgot the fictional friend.
DeleteGreat job on your 1st blog post!
DeleteIf I could have any fictional character as a best friend, it would be Nikki Maxwell from the Dork Diaries series because she is very artistic, funny, and we both have a lot of things in common with each other. She draws a lot in her diary which makes her artistic. We both have little sisters, diaries, an artistic ability and a very unique personality. Together, we would go shopping at the mall for new clothes, share our doodles, go the amusement park and read articles from different girl magazines. Nikki and I would have a great friendship because we have a lot in common and we would understand each other . Nikki and I would turn out to be great friends.
ReplyDeleteThe book I liked as a child was Different Like Coco. It was about Coco Chanel from childhood to adulthood and how she liked being different. I still enjoy this book because it taught me that being different is good thing and could look back on that lesson when I feel left out. A definition of a good book is a story or plot that has strong and determined character that I can relate to and it would make me interested about what happens next. A book that I am currently reading is the Ozma Of Oz by L. Frank Baum and it was adapted by Eric Shanower. Dorothy is on another adventure in the Land of Ev after she was washed away from her uncle. In the Land of Ev, she travels with Billina the talking chicken and Tik-Tok the mechanical man as they try to stop the Nome King. I recommend this book to people who are fans of fairy tales and adventure books.
Such wonderful detailed paragraphs! :)
DeleteI love that book. Keep being interesting!
DeleteIf I could be best friends with any fictional character, it’d have be the last time lord from Gallifrey. The mad man with a box. The predator. If he existed in this universe, he’d be the most powerful being in all of time and space. He’d make emotionless robots feel fear, and send the galaxy's most ferocious warriors home, quaking in their armor. He’s the Doctor. He travels through time and space in his blue box, his TARDIS. TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. The TARDIS looks to be about 4 square feet in area on the outside, but actually, it’s bigger on the inside, scientifically, it’s practically another dimension. His TARDIS is the last of the TARDISes, like he is the last of his race, the Time Lords. Burned his whole race to the ground, he did. Lots and lots of pain and regret shows in his deep green eyes. But anyway, when he’s not saving Earth, he’s exploring the Diamond reefs of Barcelona, (the planet, not the city) or doing some other crazy thing. That’s why I’d want him as my best friend.
ReplyDeleteReading. I’m more of a fantasy girl, myself. I was always reading Roald Dahl when I was younger, I enjoyed the crazy stories he’d tell. THE WITCHES was one of his books, I never put it down, I read it over and over. I still enjoy THE WITCHES to this very day. And the movie is great too. I’m not usually bothered by movie franchises, after all these authors must be proud their book/s has done well enough to be made into a movie/s. Like HARRY POTTER, they were excellent books, and the movies were amazing!
Well, keep the imagination alive!
DeleteIf I could be friends with a fictional character it would be Isabella lee from my favorite book called PERFECT. I would like to be her friend because she is honest, friendly, mature and helpful. I think she’s mature because she had a eating disorder and decided to get rid of it by herself by going to a group conversation. She’s honest because she tells her little sister what happen to their father when they were little. She loves to have a good time like me. We would go to party’s, sleepovers, concerts and much more. We will have a close, wild, honest and crazy friendship. We will never hurt each other on purpose. We will be the best of friends.
ReplyDeleteThe first memory I have of me reading is when I was four-years-old. My mom taught me how to read. She taught me how to read with my favorite childhood book called THE CAT IN THE HAT by Dr. Seuss. I would always read that book again and again. I still love that book today as a seventh grader. I think a good book is when your in the reading zone and feel like you’re one of the characters. The book i'm currently reading is called THE REIVENTION OF BESSICA LEFTER by Kristen Tracy. It’s about a girl named Bessica and she’s starting middle school by herself and she’s scared of what’s going to happen to her while she’s there.
Nice, for thinking of a book. When you was thinking of a fictional chracter.
DeleteKeni Penny, I you did a perfect job on this blog post, keep up the great work!
DeleteI could be friends with a fictional character it would be Junie B. Jones because she is very creative and funny . I would like to be friends with her because she has a very creative mind and i think of her as energetic, weird, funny, opinionated, smart little girl. We would play dress up and house even sing and dance. We would be like sisters. I would tell her about how life is to be older and how complicated it is ,to help her in the future when she grows up. We would bake treats and cook all day if we could. We would have fun all day long just like real sisters. That is why i would like to be friends with Junie B. Jones!!!
ReplyDeleteI learned to read in kindergarten . I was turning six-years-old when i started to learn. Many people started to teach me like my mom ,dad ,sister, grandparents ,and so on......... Dr. Seuss was one of my favorite authors as a child. One of my favorite books was “Do you like green eggs and ham?” I still like to read his books and i went back and read one this year as a seventh grader. My idea of a good book is funny, addictive , and never boring. That's what I think is a good book for me.
I love her books. Awesome choice!
DeleteChrishonna, you first blog post is truly a keeper!
DeleteA Fictional Friendship
ReplyDeleteI Would want to be Bill’s friend because he always has your back and he protects you . And he’s not normal he’s is made out of cardboard and he’s a professional boxer. He would probably even teach me some moves! He loves to help out and make people happy. Bill is from the book: CARDBOARD .
When I was small I use to read CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS by Dav pilkey. I read one of his books not too long ago. I stop reading he’s book’s but i still like them. I went to see diary of a wimpy kid “Dog days” with my mom and my sister. But i think the movie could've been better.
Well good for thinking outside the box!
DeleteGreat job ;)
DeleteIf I could have a fictional character as my best friend, it would be Yoda! Yoda is a great teacher, so who better to have as your best friend then your own teacher! We would hang out, eat and drink whatever Jedi Masters usually do, and practice our art, the Force. Our friendship would be very close, but I think it would be more like a brotherhood.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book series growing up was, (and still is), “Diary Of Wimpy Kid”. Jeff Kinney is the author, and I still enjoy reading his books as a seventh grader. A good book to me is a challenging one, but not too hard. Right now, the book I am reading is called, “Angry Birds, 50 True Stories Of The Fed Up, Feathered, And Furious”. This book is about real world Angry Birds and their angry behaviors, with some of my favorite Angry Birds characters! I would recommend this book to any Bird fanatic or any lovers of the game like myself!
Nice for being you all the way through!
DeleteI would want Flash to be my best friend because with his super speed, he can take me any place that I want in seconds.Flash’s real name is Barry Allen bit he has to keep it a secret from evil villain because he has loved ones. He can also take me to see is other super powered friends such as Superman,Aquaman, Captain Marvel, and Superboy.Flash is apart of a group of people called The Justice League. They are one of the coolest teams in the superhero universe. They save the world numerous of times and even other worlds.Maybe he can make me my own superhero costume and I can run around looking like a fool(since I have no superpowers.)
ReplyDeleteI was three years old when I first learned how to read;my mom taught me how to read. As a child,my favorite author was Jeff F. Kennedy and Dr. Suess.I never went back to a book even though I read it before because I thought it was .The definition of a good book is an action packed theme with explosions, spies, things coming to life, etc. The book that I’m reading is Knights of the lunch table is like a biography/ comic book.I would recommend this book to all my friends because they might have the same taste in books .I have read some, but not a lot of movie-based books.A lot of those books I’ve really enjoyed.
Great you like Flash too!!. ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM
DeleteFlash is the best superhero ever
DeleteI like flash too because he decent!!!!!!11
Deletethis is great
DeleteWell if that is your dream. Make it come true!
DeleteIf you were the Flash's best friend then never challenge him to a race. He would pop up out of no where and scare you. He would eat his food faster than the speed of light.
DeleteIf I can have any fictional character as a best friend it would be Black Widow because she knows how to fight. Black Widow is the women superhero from The Avengers. We would go on missions together, along with all the other super-heroes. Also, we would go shopping together with our friends. It would be very fun and adventurous.
ReplyDeleteThe definition of a good book is a book you will love and read over and over again. You will escape into the book, and won’t be paying attention to the noises or people around you. I am The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. So far, it’s a good book to read, that’s why I can’t wait to check the book out. A film version of a book I read is Percy Jackson and the Olympians Lightning Thief. It was an great book.
Awesome Alisha Black Widow is awesome
DeleteShe is very flexible. Nice vision!
DeleteA definition of a good book is one I can imagine what I read. Another reason is that I would read it for a long time and still like it. My favorite author was Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan wrote the Percy Jackson series and the Kane series! Still today i read his books. I remember when i first learned how to read. I was 6 years old but i couldn’t remember who taught me, I think it was my dad. I got really happy to read a page of Junie.B.Jones!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be Percy Jackson’s friend because he gets into lots of fights and dangerous cool stuff but I don’t want to die. Percy Jackson is from a book, well actually 8 books so far. He fights dangerous monsters and other people. He is Poseidons son. Poseidon is a greek god. So I guess Percy is kinda important because of that.
Well just keep reading!
DeleteI would want SpongeBob as a best friend for multiple reasons. First of all he is way too funny. He is a good friend to have around when you are feeling down. Also I would love to go to his job with him to see how his job is. Another reason is that i would like to meet his other friends like Patrick, Squidward and the rest of the gang. As well as meet his pet snail, Gary, he might be a nice snail. Therefore he could fit the title of being a best friend.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I learned to read was when I was about four-years-old. My mother taught me like the basic things about reading. For example she taught me things that I would need to know about in kindergarten. That means that when I got to kindergarten I was already prepared. Therefore I was always a step ahead in reading and I’ve love to read ever since.
I love Spongebob
DeleteI LIKE SPONGEBOB TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteSPONGEBOB DOEEE <3!
DeleteGood job. I am happy for you!
DeleteIf I could have any fictional character as my best friend it would be Spider-man. The reason that is is because I would get free pizza. He works at a pizza store. He would hook me up with a couple of slices. I would also get a free ride and a fast ride around town. He would also make me a suit and I would be a sidekick. How cool would it be to stand next to Spider-man in action. Time to stop thinking about it before I start daydreaming in class.
ReplyDeletePERCY JACKSON was my favorite book and my favorite author was Rick Riordan. A good book to me is consistent book. A book that always makes me go to the next page, when I have to sit on my hands so I don’t flip to the next page. The best book to me is a book i can read like eight times over again ( like the PERCY JACKSON books).
I love spider man
Deletespiderman percy jackson yes no
DeleteWell if that is your dream. Reach for the sky!
DeleteSean, nothing wrong with Spider Man but Dash is better. Did you see the new spider man movie.
Delete
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fictional character is Beast Boy from Teen Titan and Young Justice. I like him because he’s funny and he does stupid things all the time. Also he turns into animals like Cheetahs,T-rex, and etc... that is so awesome. I wish I could do that. If he was real I would hang out with him all the time. That’s why he’s my favorite. Who is your?
I started reading a long time ago. Witch I don’t know when. I learned from my parents and school. I also use me spelling skill to learn. I love to read Dr.Suess. I have started reading the Hunger Games but I didn’t finish. Do you want to know why? …..because I love Amulet. The books I read and saw the movies were The Lorax,Percy Jackson, and Little Bill. Well Little Bill was a show. How about you answer these question and let me know what you think. Please leave a comment.
Nice job with the characteristics!
DeleteI would love to be LeBron James’s bestfriend because I think he’s one of the best basketball players in the NBA. He plays for Miami Heat. I like the way him and his team play together. I think he is a great team player and he has great sportsmanship to any player. I also like the way he dribble the ball. We would go play basketball together in the basketball court. We would practice shooting the ball so we both can get better. We could go out and buy ice cream or basketball stuff. I would like to go inside his house and tour it. Our friendship will be like a knot on a shoe. When he needs me I’m there and when I need him he’s there.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite author as a child was Dr. Suess. I think that his books was funny and it rhymed all the time. I never got tired of his books. As a 7th grader I still read his books sometimes. My first time reading was in Pre-K. I read a book called CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM ABC. I use to like that book. My Mom taught me how to read a book. The book that I’m reading now is DIARY OF A WIMPY KID BY Jeff Kinney. This book is funny and it talks about stuff that happened to me once in my life. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Jeff Kinney books.
yes LeBron
DeleteAll i can say is good thing for you not being afraid to tell your opinion.
DeleteI want to be Iron Man best friend because he is very smart and who wouldn’t want to be a superhero friend? another reason I would like to be his friend is because I want a suit just like his.If he and I had a suit we would fly around , defeat villains , and I would get a chance to meet the Avengers. Iron Man and I will have fun defeating villains .
ReplyDeleteI really don’t remember but I think was about 2-3 when read for the first time. My earliest reading memory was with my mom. When I was a kid my favorite book was green eggs and ham,and my favorite author was Dr.Seuss. The book I’m currently reading is Travel Team.
That is really funny, cause so does my brother. KEEP YOUR DREAM ALIVE!
DeleteI knew you would choose "Iron Man"! Great Job on first blog post!
DeleteFor some reason, I really can see you and the Black Widow being best friends! You did and excellent job for your first blog post :)
DeleteIf I could have a character as a friend it would be Darcy from the bluford series. Because she’s nice and sweet but sometimes a real person that you can discuss with anything, and someone that you can give advice to or tell her what you think that she should do .What we would do together is hang out and discuss what’s happening in our lives. Or tell each other gossip that we heard in school or just in general. Our friendship would be trustworthy. Because we can trust each other on things we say about gossip or things in general. We can talk about personal things or what we think about things, and that how are friendship will be like!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is your most favorite book? My favorite book has to be someone to love me by Paul Langton because it feels realistic and like a true story to me and that was one of my favorite books.
What is your definition of a good book? My definition of a good book is something that feels realistic or keeps me interested in reading the whole book.
Did you ever saw a movie the was based of the book?
One the movie that was based of the book was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif. When I went to see the movie and they had different scenes than the book had but they still had the same characters.
I was just reading that. Nice for picking a character out of a book.
DeleteI would like Kenichi from: Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple to be my best friend, so that way we could practice various martial arts together. For example Mui-thai which originated in Thailand two millenniums. Also kempo which originated in China, it involves more as to quick hits to tire out opponents than to take them out. Lastly I’d like to practice weapon sparring, most people think that weapon sparring teaches you to kill people which is why people don’t normally study that martial art, but really it’s about making your opponent defenceless. That’s why I’d like Kenichi as my best friend.
ReplyDeleteThe first book I ever read was Clifford The Big Red Dog: The Magic Ball. I don’t usually read it, unless to my little brother; but when I was small I found it fascinating. Right now I’m reading a book called A Ghost In The Mirror. It’s about a witch that’s trying to regain her powers. Those were and are my top two books.
I would like Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4 to be my best friend because she is a bit like me. She loves mysteries and crime so she became a detective, and I also love mysteries and crime. She hates it when people tell her that she can't do anything because she’s a kid and a girl, like me sometimes. And our friendship would be a bit weird because she is older and in high school, but there are some things we have in common. She is at height and she acts the same way as me sometimes. So I think our friendship would be ok,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first learned how to read, I was four-years-old. The person who taught me was my mom. My earliest reading memory was when I was four and my mom and I were sitting on my bed reading some Dr. Suese book. We sat there and we kept re-reading the book I believe four or five times. I started to get the hang of it and my mom after that I believe gave me a cookie or something like that.
I don't know who that is? But great for thinking outside the box!
DeleteMY favorite fictional character is Hawk Eye.Why because,he has great aim and he is always confident in himself. If me and him were really close like best friends my new favorite sport would be archerie. Also i would know how to finally shoot apples off of peoples head without killing him.I really didn’t know Hawk Eye like that because i really didn’t look up him or try to know what was skill exactly, but when i saw avengers on the first day it came out.
ReplyDeleteI saw Hawk Eye and was beasting:in other words great.Thats when i finally had interest in him.The people who liked avengers research Hawk Eye you mite interest in him.
Nice decision. Hawk eye is awesome!
DeleteBut I love Hawk Eye
DeleteA Fictional Friend
ReplyDeleteA fictional friend that I would like is Spongebob. I would love to be Spongebob’s friend because Spongebob is funny and sometimes weird. And sometimes I need cheering up so I would love to laugh. And Spongebob isn’t afraid to be who he is. Our friendship would be like crazy and fun. Because we are both crazy, so we would probably try crazy things. And it would be fun because Spongebob is really always doing something fun. We would be awesome friends!!!!!
My identity as a reader is very unique. Well the first time I learned how to read was when I was six, But i could only read out loud. Then I was in Tr.Ericka’s class and I learned how to read independently, and I think I was seven. And it was amazing to finally read independently. My definition of a good book is not writing something that could happen. Something that would never happen in real life. It would never be fun book to me f it was real stuff. All my books that I have liked a lot is comics. Because a lot of comics have things in it that don’t happen in real life.
Spongebob is truly a great fictional friend! He sure does make you laugh, too. I really like your first blog post ;)

ReplyDeleteI want superman to be my best friend because he could be my body guard. Superman can get me to school in a minute because he has powers. I always wanted a super hero friend. He could save me if i’m getting bullied . He can carry me up high in the air like an Eagle.
I pick superman because I can be a psychic to him. I can tell him where shooting is happening or when people are stealing stuff. Superman can be my life saver. Superman can be my hero because he cares about people and saves them. He kills villains to save the world. Thats why i pick superman as my best friend
My favorite book or favorite series of books is Percy Jackson. I like Percy Jackson books because I like greek mythology or god. I also like the battles in the book and the way they describe the monsters so I can image it in my head. The author of the book is Rick Riordan he writes the books and other books I like too. I mostly read historical fiction because I like learning about history.
A FICTIONAL FRIENDSHIP
ReplyDeleteIf I could choose any fictional friend, it would have to be Indiana Jones! I would choose Indiana Jones, because he is extremely adventurous, courageous, wise, and is a superhero (without extraordinary powers)! Indiana Jones makes me feel that my imperfections are the key to I truly am. Mr. Jones and I would do a lot together! He and I would truly be best buddies. We would probably travel to many civilizations to find missing artifacts that were stolen by the bad guys, and return them to their place of origin. Our friendship would be one of a kind! Indiana and I would be able to communicate, and relate to each other about different things. We would be able to count on each other when we needed a helping hand. These are all the reasons why I would choose Indiana Jones to be my buddy!
I remember the first time I learned to begin reading. I was about five-years-old. I know that seems young, but it’s definitely true. My mom was the one who taught me how to read throughout preschool and beyond. She always put index cards around the house to improve my vocabulary. When I was about five-years-old going on six, I remember reading a Little Critter book in front of my mom during bedtime. I wanted to prove to her that I could read a full book without help.
My favorite series of books when I was younger, were the “Little Critter” series by Mercer Mayer. Even though, I’m in 7th grade, I always read at least one of her books each night, especially the “Just Go to Bed” one! To me, the definition of a good book is one that keeps my attention and draws me in. It’s if I can relate to the character, and know what they’re going through. Lastly, it makes me want to read it more than once. The book I’m currently reading is Endangered by Eliot Schrefer.
Endangered takes place in the Congo, where Sophie has to take control of her mother’s sanctuary for bonobos, but when a war/revolution breaks out, she has to protect the bonobos and escape to a safe place which is the jungle. Sophie has to find a way to eat, keep safe, and survive! I would recommend this book to the adventure type/Hunger Games Lovers. I hope you enjoy my first blog post!
Sincerely,
Hannah*
I like your post. It's very creative and detailed. And I might consider reading "Endangered".
DeleteA Fictional Friendship
DeleteI want Superman to be my bestfriend, because I would love a superhero to be my best friend. Superman will always be there for me, when I’m in trouble or need someone to rescue me . Also, he can take me places I want to go, instead of taking the terrible bus. Also, it would be extremely cool to be soaring through the skies with superman. That’s why I want superman to be my best friend!
My favorite book was Junie B. Jones. I’ve return to that book over and over again. I still enjoy that book, but I prefer it when I was little. My definition of a good book is that it needs to catch my eyes. What that means is, it definitely needs to be unique, but also something I’ve ever read before. It also needs to be interesting a.k.a. full of action, plus exciting drama. I have read the Hunger Games, but I haven’t watched the movie yet. I heard that the book was totally better than the movie, because the movie left out some important details and parts from the actual book.
Love it!
DeleteMy favorite character is Dash from the Incredibles. I think he amazingly fast and confident. He would teach to run so fast and get me out of trouble by running away. We would be G friends.

O and about my first comment, it was a mixup between me and Tr. Lacey.
My fictional character will half to be Stewie from family guy because he is funny and he is only three and he wants to kill his mother, Family guy is on four channels but it mainly come on adult swim. Stewie always want to hurt somebody or make them cry when he makes a funny joke but he only make jokes about his dog Brian.
ReplyDeleteBrian was the first one who knew that he can talk, Brain is the dog,Brian is a dog that peter found him cleaning cars in the alleyway then Peter took Brian in for a pet and Peter is the father on family guy and he is funny like his son but Stewie is still funnier because he was meant to be funny so that is why i like Stewie from FAMILY GUY.
If I had a best fictional it would be Batman.
ReplyDeleteBecause it would be fun to do the stuff that he does.Like at the day you get to be an rich billionaire playboy, then at night you to be with an hero who stops a city that need saving.People will give the looks of a hero. And besides who wouldn't want to be friends with billionaire and a superhero that doesn't need super powers, that is that smart to build gadgets.
I read when since I was 2. the first book i reed was The Lorax. Its been my favorite book in the whole world.
Fictional Friendship

I want to be Master Chief’s best friend because I go to other planets and battle some aliens. Master Chief is from Earth but he needs to lead the Halo Spartans to battle the alien, the aliens are called Covenants. I like to go to other planets so I could see new stuff and I get to see planets beyond our Solar System. The bad thing is that I could get killed by aliens or our rocket ship would explode because of the pressure of the planet. If he was my best friend he could show me some cool armor and weapons of the future, and even see the aliens that human imagine. Master Chief is really serious and wise that’s why I like him.
My definition of a good book is not boring and graphic novel. I like The Percy Jackson and The Olympian and The Heroes of Olympus series. Mostly I like graphic novel or comic because for me it’s the type of books that is fun for me to read. I started reading when I was six, my teachers at school taught me to read and my mom disciplined me to read everyday at home. There was this Percy Jackson movie that I watched, it was different from the book but I was disappointed because I wanted to see more stuff that is in the book to be in the movie. My favorite book is probably the “Knights of the Lunch Table” series because it’s really mysterious, funny, and really connects throughout the book. It contains teen’s life as a middle schooler.
I might read Knights of the Lunch Table! I loved your first blog post :)
DeleteFictional Paragraphs
ReplyDeleteIf I could have any fictional best friend it would be Phineas and Ferb because they’re very creative and bright, I love to hang around people like that because its a good combination especially if we do extreme/illegal things. Ferb doesn't talk but he’s good with his hands for instance, I sing all the time but I am very quiet around people. Phineas is wild and energetic when it comes up to ideas, when people do things like digging up their nose he would make a GIANT nose that sneezes on people YUCK, hahaha. Phineas is also sarcastic even when he doesn't want to be for example, If I say: “What time is it Phineas?” He would say:”Its time for you,to get a watch!” Ferb doesn't take no for an answer even if we would swim with sharks and had electric eels, he still would tell you to go.But the most part I like is that they never get caught, its always something that saves them before their mom sees them.
With Me, Phineas and Ferb we would destroy the world. The boys love to do anything that pops up in their head even if it sounds like they’re gonna die they still do it. Since Im a girl and half the things are INSANE inside my head; with Ferbs brain to create things and Phineas and his crazy thoughts and ideas...the world is going to end! I would love to go to space and make delicious ice cream from cows on the moon and never get caught. I would also want to ride on a roller coaster around the globe and my mom would ignore my big sister cause she thinks were innocent children.
What I would do with Phineas and Ferb? I would make my town almost like The Cloudy Chance Of Meatballs and half of Six Flags rides, if you look at the streets its made out of black licorice while the pavements are made out of frozen caramel. The tree branches are made from chocolate with Gummy bears that change color throughout the season, and drops to the ground with it hits the season fall. When its winter the snow is ice cream while the rain is orange soda.

DeleteIf I could trade blog posts, I would have to trade mines with yours! No doubt about it :)
DeleteI think when I first started reading I three or four years old I was about three or four years old.
ReplyDeleteMy father has been a horror writer for as long as I can remember so he has been a good foundation on my reading.I can remember asking my dad if I could read one of his books and even though the both of us knew they were above my reading level I would still try to read them
anyway.Reading my dad’s novels has improved my overall reading fluency do to them being books above my level.
Aside from my dad Eric Carl was my best childhood Aurthur. My favorite book was the hungry Caterpillar. My definition of a good book is a book that can keep me occupied and interested.
The book I am currently reading is the Eleventh Plague by Suzzane Collins.Suzzane Collins has been an inspirational writer for me as long as I can remember.

ReplyDeleteSpider man would be my fictional character as best friend because we would fight crimes and swing on building.
I think spider man would be a cool friend because he is a good guy and help people.
Spider man and I would go and fight crime by stopping people from robbing banks and fighting.
Another thing Spider Man and I would do is take gun away from bad people.
We would have a good friendship because we would because we would fight crime and save everybody, also we have the same powers. Spider man would be my favorite fictional character because he would be a good friend.
The first time i learned how to read was in Pre-k. I was 4 year old when i started to read. Also i remember reading Elmo go to school. The person that taught me to read was named Ms Angie. She use to teach me by sounding the words out. My earliest memory for reading by myself was in kindergarten. I read a book call Clifford big red dog, i also read little Bill astronaut. My favorite book as a child was sesame street friends. Yes i still enjoy this as a 7th grader because it make me think like a kid
If I could be a fictional character’s best friend, it would be Katniss Everdeen. I don’t usually like to make friends with girls, but with Katniss I make an exception because of her fierce personality and brave instincts. I would like to be friends with her because she’s a superb hunter. I’m sure it would be awesome to go hunting with her. Also, we would do some bargaining at the Hob. I’m sure it would be fun to have her as a friend because she won the 74th annual Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first learned to read, I was eight. Reading is like being inside the story and witnessing the actions of the characters. My earliest reading memory is reading Dr. Seuss’s “Green eggs and ham”. My dad helped me with most of the words. To me, good books have to be action-packed, attention grabbing, and not-so-hard vocabulary. A good book-movie that i’ve seen/read is Harry Potter. Also The Hunger Games and Lord of the Rings. I’m currently reading the second book in the Hunger Games series: Catching Fire.
I would choose Katniss Everdeen, too. Great job with details Caleb :)
DeleteDear People,
ReplyDeleteI want to be yodas best friend because I want to learn to use the force.I want to learn the force because the force is use to make peace with your enemies. Also Yoda is the best master jedi in the republic. But also Yoda has immortal powers so he would never age.Plus he is the master of Obi wan kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. This may be funny be I also want to be his friend because were both almost the same size.
The first time I learned to read was in kindergarden.I was at least five to six-years-old.The person that taught me to read was my mom.My favorite book is Tao of Jeet Kune Do.The auther is Bruce Lee.I still enjoy the book now when I’m in 7th grade.I still enjoy the book and hope to read it again. My definition for this book is that it ia fun to read and also you can a little bit of Tao Of Jeet Kune Do. Donovan
Got a book and I like the book it was fun.My memories the best friend that I choose from the book is Harry Potter and way because he has magic and has spellbook and that Harry has enemies like Professor Snake and ogres and Voldemort and that he has a lot of challenge from his school. When did I learned to read is that I was little I like to read. When I was in summer capes is that my mom told me that I read I remember that my mom reading me a book when I was 11 years old I start read that I like when I like. When I was somebody house I saw that a little girl that she reading a lot.

ReplyDeleteIf I could have any fictional character for a best friend, I would choose Mia Winchell from the book A MANGO SHAPED SPACE because we share a lot of the same interests, like drawing, being outdoors and her cat, Mango (and for me, my cat, Louis). I would have to go down to her house to see her, because she lives in the country where all the woods are. We could go between the ‘secret passages’ in the walls from where her father and her grandfather did their own things and made two different houses and met up in the middle. We could do PIC missions (Partners In Crime) and explore the woods.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the definition of a good book is one that is descriptive, humorous, deep, captivating, important, and physically thick. My favorite author as a child was Roald Dahl. My favorite book by him is GOING SOLO, an autobiography of his adult life, which includes his experiences in the RAF during World War Two, stopping an entire convoy of Germans, a Green Mamba snake, and a ‘threatening’ lion. I still enjoy both the book and the author today. The book I am currently reading is called BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY by Ruta Sepetys. The protagonist lives in Lithuania in 1941 when she, her mother and younger brother are arrested by Soviet secret police and are loaded onto crowded cattle cars en route to Siberia. Her father is separated from them in a prison camp far away from them. Will they ever find their father, and will they even survive?
Sounds like Mia Winchell is an AWESOME best friend!

If I had the the Flash as my best friend it would be awesome. I would be able to fight crime and save the world. It would be the best day of my life i would never have to catch the train because the Flash can give me super powers to run as fast as he can then we can be like partners in justice. The best thing about being a superhero is that you can always get medals when you save the day. I could meet the justice league they can be my best friends I would be able to call them for help when I need it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when I'm fighting crime I can get an enemy forever. When me and the Flash would run to school people would think it was pretty cool me running to school that fast. if I was doing homework at home I can get through it fast because I would have super fast powers. Maybe if I join the track team I could be the fastest person on the team. I would win every race and get lots of trophies and I would be on the news for being the fastest person in the world.
If I could become friends character from a book it would be Whinne Perry. She is from a book series that called: Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, and Thirteen plus one. I would become friends with her because she is like me. She goes the same girl problems as I do. I could talk to her about things and she would help me solve them. In the books she is really funny and knows how to deal with embarrassing situations. She would be my friend to lean on.
ReplyDeleteI learned how to read when I was 4 or 5. My aunt Bernice who used to be a teacher taught me how to read. We would get together on Sundays and spend hours practicing to read. I remember at her apartment she has a porch, it was a beautiful day. I was going to start kindergarten very soon. She walked out with a book, and it was called “Thank you Mr.Falker”. We read it together and it was really nice. That was the first book I ever read by myself.
If I could have any fictional character as a
ReplyDeletebest friend, who would it be?
Tough question.... Ugh well i guess it would be Peter Pan. Me and Peter Pan would be best friends because he never wants to grow up. He likes to be a Boss and live by his own rules. He likes to believe in the impossible. He dreams big.Plus he always has Tinker Bell at his side. I love her sassiness.OH... I also forgot he flys !!! Why would i not want to be friends with someone like that. Peter Pan is awesome.
I’m a bookworm. I love reading. Reading to me is a necessity. Reading is one of my few passions. Books are always there for me when i feel like shutting out the world for one hour or five. Yeah I seriously need a life. Anyway I started reading in third grade. But didn’t actually get into books until fourth grade. The first series I ever read was Junie B. Jones. My Mum loved Junie B. Jones books. So I’m basically very excited reader
If I could have any fictional character as a friend I would pick Spongebob Squarepants. He is funny, yellow with two teeth, and cries a lot. We would do everything together and go everywhere together, we would be like Jack and Jill. I would be the normal one in other ways he wouldn’t be, he’ll be a special friend. I would travel to bikini bottom just to see my best friend. The most I like is his laugh.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first learned to read I was very little, maybe three or four. My mom and Independence Charter School taught me how to read better as I got older. My earliest reading memories are laughing everytime I read a funny book. I sometimes laughed so hard that snot came out my nose. My favorite books were Dr.Suess books. They made me laugh the most. I kept reading Green Eggs and Ham that was my favorite of them all. As a 7th Grader I still like reading that book, I still have it to. The definition of a good book is comedy and drama, I enjoy them the most.
I am currently reading, The Wizard Of Oz’ on my tablet. It’s kinda interesting I guess you can say that, but when you’re bored don’t read it you’ll be even more bored!
Wow 7th graders! I loved reading your posts. Your choices of fictional friends really say a lot about you. I also love hearing about what you're reading right now. Thanks, Tr. Amy
ReplyDeleteIf I had to name a fictional friend, I would pick a character from this television the “Rugrats” I watched when I was younger. Her name was Binky. I really liked the show and her character too. She reminded me of myself at that time. She also had little brothers and sisters, and I remember they were always very nice to her.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up the one books I really love to read with my mom was called “CAT IN THE HAT.”
The authors name is “DR.SEUSS.”
Now since I’m not a little kid anymore the books genres I love to read are “comedy, drama, horror, and romantic.”
Before i start reading I look on the front and back cover a lot.
Teacher Lacey this is Zaidie's paragraphs ok good bye

ReplyDeleteIf i was able to pick fictional character as a best friend it would be hancock. Hancock is a great fictional character. Hancock has wonderful powers such as flying ,super strength and super fast. Hancock and i can hang out, have fun and shop all day. If i had powers like hancock it would be great. hancock and i would fly around, race and lift cars. “Everybody going to be hating!” The others like us would be hang out with me and hancock. I pick hancock because he’s a cool person and me and hancock can really hang out and explore (like the motherland.)
I learned how to read when I was real young “yeah them days!”I was like 4,5, my family taught me how to read. Cat and the hat. I was reading Cat and the Hat and I was actin like a teacher, I really can’t explain what a good book is. I’m reading The Gun...my blog post thanks
